  | Our 4 Day Pre-K Class The Superstars  The 4 Day Pre-K meets Monday through Thursday 12:30-3:30. Our teachers for 4 Day Pre-K are Teacher Deb and Teacher Sheryl. Both the 3 Day Pre-K class and the 4 Day Pre-K class focus on
Kindergarten preparedness, which is evident in the daily activities. Our 4 Day Pre-K class begins with free choice time like our other classes. This can be anything from legos and puzzles to flubber and fun games like 'Bones for the Dog.' After the students help with cleanup, they gather for circle time where they go over the calendar, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the letter/letter sound of the week. They continue their day with theme-based activities: crafts, writer's journal, projects, etc. They have a recess time outside on the big playground if the weather cooperates; and if it doesn't, then we have our big room set up with play equipment or obstacle courses. The 4 Day Pre-K class has changed for the 2012/2013 school year! It will be lasting a half hour longer than our 3 day Pre-K classes. Why? If you are considering a full day Kindergarten program for your child, the extra 1/2 hour a day equals out to 2 extra hours of instruction time per week (or equivalent to an extra day of class!) This extra 1/2 hour will be divided up by extending the opening and closing circle and the project time- crafts, letter and journal writing, and Bible Stories. We chose to include this option because we know that there are families with napping babies and/or elementary siblings that might enjoy a less stressful pick up time. That said, we do ask that you pick up at 3:30 so that our teachers may clean up and prep the classroom for the next day. |   |
